Crostyx ladies 3 hosted local rivals Redbridge & Ilford on Saturday 6th October. The game started well despite the pouring rain which continued throughout. Crostyx were looking for goals with a very youthful team and had a number of chances to score first, the best coming off the post from Juliet Drake. The team continued to drive forward down the right from Teni with fantastic running from the youngsters Keira Murphy and Charlotte. Debutant Katie V eventually opened the scoring after a team performance in the D.

After the break and a talk from coach Rusty the team continued to push for more goals with man of the match Saskia Murphy fighting for every ball. Another good corner routine gave Katie V her second goal with the ball weaving through the defenders. Katie had an excellent opportunity to make it 3 but think she wanted to avoid the hat trick prosecco round! Saskia finally got on the scoreboard to round off a great game. Special mention to dick of the day Amber Preston who managed to dramatically fall while driving into the D and Anika who decided she didn't need to touch the ball all game.

As is now tradition the ladies 3s celebrated with a glass of fizz at the club (Ed: The perfect accompaniment to one of Tina's excellent teas).
