Saffron Walden 6's 4 - 2 Crostyx 3's
Crostyx went away to Saffron Walden with an ealy start meaning that the team would start without the full amount of players. Despite starting with 2 players down Crostyx took the game to the home side. Having carved out several good chances the home side took the lead. Crostyx then went up to 10 players and just as it was looking like a goal seperating the sides, the home side struck on the counter attack and with an error from the Crostyx captain found themselves 2 goals up.
Crostyx came out with a full side for the second half and immediately reduced the deficit with a a well struck short corner by Alfie. The home side then increased their lead and with another error by the Crostyx captain found themselves 2 goals up again. Crostyx continued to dominate the game and pulled another goal back from Matt who dinked the ball over the keeper.
This was a good performance and could so have been different with a full side for the whole game. The team must learn to take the chances when they arrive and also not to run onto flat sticks! This week the side is at home at 1.30pm against our old friends Witham.
